Enter Your Congregation for the New LW Column

What makes a congregation special? It could be any number of reasons:

What makes your congregation special? We here at The Lutheran Witness want to know, because next year, LW will have a new column: Walking Together. This new column will feature one LCMS congregation in each issue next year. That means we are looking to share the story of 11 LCMS congregations next year.

Here’s where you come in: We’re looking to you for submissions. Creatively describe why we should include your LCMS congregation in the Walking Together congregational spotlight column. If your congregation is selected, we will send a team to visit your congregation, make photos, videos and interview members. Then we will include a story and imagery of your church in one of the issues of 2024.

“How do I enter?” you ask. Write up (or make an audio or video recording) about how God works in your congregation in a special or unique way. It could be a special ministry of your congregation, church worker, church member, location or context, historical significance, or any number of options. And then submit it to LW for consideration. It’s that easy.

Guidelines:

  • Text should be 100 words or fewer.
  • Videos or audio recordings should be shorter than three minutes.
  • Deadline: None!**

Send your description or link to either lutheran.witness@lcms.org or send a “letter to the editor” from this website.

We look forward to sharing more of our life together as the people of the LCMS.

** This page has been updated to reflect the fact that the Walking Together column will be ongoing. As such, we will continue to accept nominations.
