Welcome to the August issue of The Lutheran Witness. It’s been two months since we’ve arrived in your mailbox, or on your doorstep, and a lot has changed in the interval: Our Synod has met in convention in Houston, which we highlight in this issue; elected a new president, Rev. Matthew C. Harrison, executive director of LCMS World Relief and Human Care; and, by way of adopting significant relationship changes at the national level, mandated a new structural composition for the church.
