Not Everyone Gets to Be an Astronaut


Several years ago, when my daughter, Emma, was just barely four years old, our pastor gave a sermon about being a sheep and following the shepherd or being a goat. After he had finished, I turned to my daughter and asked her if she was going to be a sheep or a goat. She looked at me with a very serious expression and said, But I wanted to be a princess!

Did God Really Say . . .


The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Lutheran elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. One teacher made a note and posted on the apple tray: Take only ONE. God is watching.


At the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a similar note: Take all you want. God is watching the apples.

No matter how rich you become, how famous or powerful, when you die, the size of your funeral will still pretty much depend on the weather.

A Dangerous Sport


My husband, who played lacrosse in high school, decided to show our five-year-old daughter how to play. when he got the lacrosse sticks out, he asked her if she knew anything about lacrosse. She replied, “Jesus was hung up on one.”
